Meath County is in the mid-east area of Ireland. Its main activity has traditionally been farming; however, since the population declined steadily after the mid-1800s, with its agricultural output declining as well (labor coming in from Eastern Europe has helped to offset this), the county is experiencing resurgence. Meath has many valuable historical sites; it’s the home of Kells and the largest Norman castles. Brú na Boínne is a series of mounds, standing stones and henges from the Neolithic period. It predates the Egyptian Pyramids. While you shouldn’t, for reasons of posterity, go dogging there, you can find doggers in the Bellinter House car-park and on Boyne Road.
